NASA is an incredible agency. Who else would leak a picture of this much ineptitude? Again, thanks to Aran for the hosting, blame him if the picture doesn't show. Then refresh it or right-click/show picture. Pick some favorite captions, there are a nice assortment to choose from.

Have you ever been thinking over some conversation that happened in the recent past and realised where you could have improved on a response, or actually made a response rather than stare, slack jawed, and nod?

That is to say, I thought of a caption. Too late of course, but a recent movie promo brought it to mind.

"Five second rule! Five Second Rule!!!"

The French call that esprit d'escalier, or "staircase wit" -- the retort you think of as you take the stairs on your way out.

On that note:

"Well, the good news is that the artificial gravity machine worked..."

Absolutely. Everyone knows that the artificial gravity machine was front page news all over the world. Airlines would all be obsolete already, if they could just succeed in turning the thing upside down without it falling over like this.

I was just thinking of posting about pensée d'escalier, but now it's too late.

Actually, "wit of the stairway".

Good translation should not generally be word-for-word; but if that were the goal, there is no 'the' in d'escalier.
