Is there any way I can check for Avernum/Avernum 2/Avernum 3 being registered with my trainers? I don't want to give people more features then the built-in character editor has since it's part of the reason to register.. Posts: 32 | Registered: Saturday, March 26 2005 08:00 |

There probably is, but discussing it would likely be just as prohibited as discussing how to go about making a trainer. -------------------- 5.0.1.0.0.0.0.1.0... Posts: 508 | Registered: Thursday, May 29 2003 07:00 |

The problem, presumably, is that if you knew the exact differences between a registered and an unregistered version, it would be possible to convert the latter to the former, which is a no-no. It's true that there are many programs that do this already, but it's also true that their making - or even methods that might facilitate their making - shouldn't be discussed here. Which is kind of ironic, since what you're actually trying to do is *prevent* people from gaining registration benefits with your tool. But I guess that's the way it is... -------------------- Encyclopaedia Ermariana • Forum Archives • Forum Statistics • RSS [Topic / Forum] My Blog • Polaris • I eat novels for breakfast. I'm thinking about just checking the "Registered!" or "Shareware version" string on the title screen. If that doesn't work, I'm not going to touch anything else. Posts: 32 | Registered: Saturday, March 26 2005 08:00 |
