Nioca, last I remember hearing, the HoF was basically being discontinued. The last discussion about possible HoFers was brief and unresolved, and it seems to have simply fallen into disuse. Posts: 4130 | Registered: Friday, 2004-03-26 |

Alright thanks Jewels. The member #4 thing makes sense, as well as the Ed thing, but unless the Ed thing is clarified newer members will not understand what that means (which is who the rule is targetted at). The one rule that really seems old is the Homeland one, though I may be missing something since I never really bothered to look at anything other than GF4 before I came a member. quote:Arctic... Custom titles mean nothing except that you amused the admins at some point, and they were bored. Two years ago I saw Drew, SoT, and myself were all granted custom titles. No reason, and certainly not due to tenure. I'd only been around for 4 months then. So, does that make me fastest to be given a custom title? -------------------- Vogel - "10% off on all of [our] products for the month of October. ... this discount applies to games, CDs, bundles, and even already discounted products." And which member numbers are concidered an oldbies and which newbies? Posts: 263 | Registered: Sunday, 2007-09-09 |

Post count does not contribute to becoming an oldbie. In fact, if you make too many stupid, uninteresting posts in an effort to obtain the meaningless approbation of your fellows, you get labelled as a permanent n00b, and if it gets annoying you get the custom title "Canned" which both refers to the fact that you are a spammer (SPAM is sold in cans, and this title was once accompanied by a Can of Spam avatar when we had avatars here), and is only one letter away from Banned, meaning if you continue to spam, you will be banned. Also, for some reason I got "canned" after I was unbanned, but Nija (I know you don't like to be called that, but it is the most recognizable name) didn't. Why is that? He is more annoying than me... -------------------- Muffins n' Hell|Muffins n' Hell: The Muffins Are Back Again I have an addiction to Spiderweb games. quote:Everybody has a different answer, but all of them come down to "Anybody much older than me is an oldbie. Anybody newer than me is a newbie." For example: "... becouse for me being #10374 everyone with lower number than #9000 is oldbie but I noticed that it's not so for rest of you "oldbies"." A poll we've had at some point confirmed this result: The top "oldbie" was recognised as such by 96% of the people. The next got 92%. Next 86%. Next 84%. And so on. All the way down to new people with less than 10% of votes and a noob with 0%. quote:There have been huge posts written on "generations" of oldbiehood, but I think my formula above defines it quite nicely. quote:No. An exessively high postcount is much more likely to lead to being considered a permanent noob. quote:No, no, no, say it isn't so. Is this a permanent change? Like it's not going back any time soon or ever? *groans* I'm gonna have to change every single link to the ratings pages... over. 400. updates... ![]() quote:I agree that the Homeland rule is now obsolete since it's no longer offered by Spiderweb but it does offer some nostalgia. Perhaps instead of rewording all the inside jokes, I could just include the proper linkage to the Archive so that those newbs so incined can inform themselves more easily. A little help finding the most appropriate posts would be greatly appreciated. -------------------- Forever Always on Past the End TrueSite for Blades - Blades Walkthroughs Pixle Profusion - BoE Graphics Archive Posts: 563 | Registered: Tuesday, 2004-07-27 |
