Why not keep it random? I like that idea. Also, I have no preferations as of now, but not that that's all too important for you to know. And no, I'm not home. I managed to steal a computer from some relatives. :P But random. That way everyone could have a fair chance, and a changing logo would be more individual than just one. I'll try to help you out here Aran. In my continuing efforts to improve your web skillz(!!!) I've come up with the one plan. You must allow each registered user select the logo they wish to have displayed. The balance will need to see the Vahnatai Comb-over with Key by Alorael to entice them into registering and participating. Choice, it appears, can be a tricksome thing sometimes. Now I have to worry about offending people - or worse, about making an unpopular choice. It already seems that I disagree with the majority. It's true that the site would need a single logo. One that is pleasing to the eye, but not glaring. One that is unique to this site, that identifies the project, but blends in without being obvious. One that is sufficiently abstract to be a logo without being too abstract to still stand for anything. I never quite caught the irony of Avernum's crest being a sunburst before. —Alorael, who now thinks that TGM's certainly looks the most professional and also gives the page the cleanest look. Unfortunately, it has nothing to do with Ermarian. He then made a few efforts to try to put ADoS's surface and cave graphic inside the larger circle of TGM's, but the result was ugly. What about ADOS's first graphic without the sun and the crown? That would be simpler, very much a logo, and I think it would look good. What's wrong with the sun and crown? As it is the crown and sun represent the conflict of the first two Avernum games and the swords represent the conflict of the second two. The swords look good, but the two symbols don't quite seem right. Maybe instead of making them have a pseudo-3D color gradient they should just be truly stylized as basically flat yellow. —Alorael, who has no good way to describe it except as making them look like badges rather than objects. I have a suggestion for TGM's logo. Make the smaller circle (the one in the background) yellow (like the text) instead of black. TGM's latest:    Now you try. :P The size relation of sun and crown is a bit unbalanced. I wonder if that is set off by the crown being on top and in front of the other. Perhaps some fine-tuning could be involved. But it has it all, otherwise. The smoothness, the Ermarian symbols, and even colors. I think I like the 2-D sun better on ADoS' sword logo. Perhaps a little more embellishment on the crown as well? Why does TGM not include a comb key? That is an important part of the series. The comb symbolizes the hair care requirements following a session of secret door finding, and the key symbolizes... okay, it symbolizes locked doors. As art, I think TGM's latest are fantastic. They look really good. But I don't like them for the EE logo. If this was for a title page logo that displayed once per login, I'd be loving them. But this is a logo that goes in the upper left hand corner of EVERY PAGE. They are the only bright thing on the page, so your eye is drawn to it even though it is always the same, and it is so busy with the textures and shapes, it's disorienting when placed next to text you are trying to read. (The effect is maybe a bit more subtle then the way I'm describing it, but you get the idea.) What I *would* really like to see is this logo done entirely in silver. (Or maybe with just the sun silver and the others in the gold.) I think that would work much better on an actual EE page than the current version. One comment about the symbols. The sun is wearing the crown? What the heck does that mean? I know I'm reading too much into them, but if you're going to consciously include symbols you may as well be conscious about how you use them. I'm really split. These logos have potential, as does TGM's other one and both of ADOS's.
