Because I lke the idea also and I like GF2 as well. 9.5 Lacks a character editor and some other things, but basically my favorite SW game. EDIT: It doesn't really need a char editor though. Minor engine improvements, minor plot developments. A very basic sequel. 8.5 -------------------- Slarty vs. Desk • Desk vs. Slarty • Timeline of Ermarian • G4 Strategy Central Posts: 3560 | Registered: Wednesday, November 7 2001 08:00 |

Good, but not outstanding. I'll give it an 7.5, since I don't buy anything under a 7.0. It was good to see a sequel and great to see the Awakened with more power than just a good vision. Interestingly, Dikiyoba noticed that several serviles change from female to male between G1 and G2. Posts: 4346 | Registered: Friday, December 23 2005 08:00 |

Three of the five dragons in Exile and Avernum had gender-changing issues. At least the serviles were relatively minor characters... -------------------- Slarty vs. Desk • Desk vs. Slarty • Timeline of Ermarian • G4 Strategy Central Posts: 3560 | Registered: Wednesday, November 7 2001 08:00 |

Three new creations is not enough inventiveness to entice me as a player. The plot was, let's be blunt, absolutely horrible. "Investigate a valley and... Oh no! Illegal shaping!" And the worst part was, the "gain x reputation to join y path" formula was highly meaningless. In GF1, you at least got different sides of a story when you joined different paths. In GF2, you get the same story and (virtually) the same gameplay, making the choices entirely vaccuous. Until GF3 (and subsequently A4), it was the worst product SW had to sell. 4.0 -------------------- * Posts: 6936 | Registered: Tuesday, September 18 2001 07:00 |

Just because of the plot!? -------------------- How many shapers are there? Why is Drypeak controlled by Zakary? Why is Barzahl a Guardian? How does the Geneforge work? What's as small as nothing? quote:Yes, but they are supposedly humanoid. I find it far easier to accept the innate ability to genderchange in mythical, highly magical reptiles than in gene-manipulated clones who look kind of like humans. Also, I give it 6.0. It could be lower, but I am trying to eliminate the peer pressure factor. In its defense, it had nice graphics, a smooth engine and, in the way of breaking cliché, a cute female lead who got murdered messily midway through the plot. Edit: By "plot", I naturally mean the closest Geneforge equivalent.
