Okay, browsing the Radiohead website I saw this little gem scrolling across the bottom of the window, and thought it was a great question: What would you do if you knew you'd get away with it? So, you could do anything in the world, from murder to robbing a sweet shop to kicking a small child, (none of which are on my list of course...) and get away with it. Completely. Even if witnesses were present. It would never go to trial, so your life wouldn't be affected in any way, apart from anything you may feel about the crime. So, go nuts... but do so with moderation. -------------------- Everybody knows, but nobody understands. Thus endeth this post. Posts: 2864 | Registered: Monday, September 8 2003 07:00 |

If I knew I'd get away with it, I'd tell the director (head of my team at work) to take a long walk off a short pier. Maybe, in less than polite words. -------------------- Everything I know about the Avernum Trilogy: [ A1 | A2 | A3 ] Posts: 1104 | Registered: Monday, March 10 2003 08:00 |

Ring of Gyges, anyone? —Alorael, who is quite sure that "shool" was a mispelling of "shul," and while death threats against Bush have to be too common to merit investigation, threatening synagogues is a good way to end any possible career in elected office before it happens. Do you mean we can do nothing besides things we were already capable of doing only with no negative consequences, or do you mean we can do anything with no negative consequences? If it's the first, I'd skip school, and if it's the second I'd go and buy Doom 2. -------------------- Important Information about Stuff Posts: 258 | Registered: Wednesday, March 9 2005 08:00 |

I'd get rid of 90% of my kids' toys (they only play with the 10% on top anyway), throw away all the useless (to me) work related papers hubby's been saving for ten years, sell the house we're in and buy a doublewide trailer to put on some heavily forested land on the outskirts of town, and paint the kitchen a nice shade of green. Maybe trade in the van for a big monster truck... yeah, that'd be nice. -------------------- "Even the worst Terror from Hell can be transformed to a testimony from Heaven!" - Rev. A genius? Here I sit writing the umpteenth draft of a technical paper at 9:30pm. Some genius. The only thing I have for relief is the hope that Sunday will be a good fishing day, with calm seas and an ocean filled with tuna, halibut, and salmon waiting to jump into the boat. Because on Monday it's back to the grind. Sigh. *this message sponsored by the international brotherhood of procrastinators local 213* Posts: 4114 | Registered: Monday, April 25 2005 07:00 |

What's the point in doing crimes if you can't get caught? It takes all fun out of it! However, doing nothing even once without my mother nagging me about it every frickin' second would be really nice. -------------------- Somebody PLEASE turn the heat on. No consequences from other people or no consequences at all (physiological, spiritual….)? If only the former; doing nothing sounds great, and if only the latter, hmm, I guess I would eat a ton of chocolate and ice cream. -------------------- Nena Posts: 2032 | Registered: Wednesday, January 26 2005 08:00 |

I guess I'd do nothing as well. And I mean nothing. Stay home all day, perhaps read a few good books. Not for eternity, but for a few weeks at least. I need a holiday... -------------------- The Encyclopaedia Ermariana <-- Now a Wiki! Actually, a monarch in a modern republic or democratic country got crime-immunity, he/she can not be sentenced for anything. However, if the king (or queen) commits a felony, he/shy may be forced to abdicate or someone with a firearm, enough alcohol and at least one psychiatric diagnosis may let out some anger... -------------------- So, as the great Groxy, I have come back to be served by goblins. Stealing the GDP is not the same as stealing the economy. —Alorael, who isn't greedy. He'd just raid the treasury a few times. No, maybe the mint instead. Posts: 14579 | Registered: Saturday, December 1 2001 08:00 |
