Do people pay money for live spiders you catch if you keep them in a cage, or would it just be useful to keep them at pets? I know silly question, but this is the Spiderweb boards. :P I'd better not include the option of killing them; that would be way too inhumane. :P -------------------- -ben4808 For those who love to spam: CSM Forums RIFQ Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

Well, technically it's not a spider, then, it's an insect. -------------------- -ben4808 For those who love to spam: CSM Forums RIFQ Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

I suppose plucking the back legs off a spider would make them an insect? Spiders and insects are relatively distant members of Arthropoda, and number of legs is only one morphological trait that distinguishes the two. Personally, I've never heard of a six-legged spider, but it wouldn't surprise me if someone had created such a freak of nature. EDIT: Also, there are animals other than insects with six legs. Mite larvae come to mind. [ Sunday, August 08, 2004 14:54: Message edited by: Andrea ] -------------------- I've got a pyg in a poke. Posts: 999 | Registered: Friday, June 27 2003 07:00 |

It was a mutation of a Pholcus phalangioides. They normally have 8 legs. >_< and I never would pluck any legs out of any arthropoda! -------------------- ^ö^ I was a cannibal for twenty-five years. Apparently there's everything from radiation, hormones, superviruses to small mammals in the water supply. Some might not be true, but I'm glad the only thing I drink is milk, nonetheless. -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

Milk? Which has a certain per cent volume of pus? And contains god knows what hormones itself? -------------------- I've got a pyg in a poke. Posts: 999 | Registered: Friday, June 27 2003 07:00 |

Yup, one and the same. Trust me on this, when I take a look at the people in my town and see how short all of them are when fully grown (the average is 5ft, only because there are one or two exceptionally tall people and immigration), I know I made the right choice, being 6"2 and 13 stone at 15. No fat, toned. All thanks to milk and vitamins. Never ate my vegetables except for sweetcorn and cucumber. And judging by my lineage it probably wasn't genetic either. -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |

And you realize that milk is 98% water, so you're really drinking water all the time. No to mention milk is twice as expensive as water (not even that if you drink tap). A lot of times, I would rather just have plain water than milk, just because it tastes better sometimes. Milk is good for meals, but I've heard too much of it can cause certain "side effects" such as diabetes. And hardly any vegetables? Siggghhh...some people. -------------------- -ben4808 For those who love to spam: CSM Forums RIFQ Posts: 3360 | Registered: Friday, June 25 2004 07:00 |

quote:I have not found any customers yet. Also I live in the same cage with them, i.e. a room with iron bars in front of the window - not what you may think. Both the spiders and I are free to leave - they, when I open the window and me when I go home. The spiders protect my PCs against intruders. Posts: 311 | Registered: Friday, February 13 2004 08:00 |

HEY!!! Hertfordshire is Faux Cosmo, not the Sticks. That title is reserved for Norfolk and Norfolk only. And you can talk Djur, you're in a country which elected a president whom some apes could outsmart (literally), then became remarkably surprised when he did something stupid. -------------------- Aut Tace Aut Loquere Meliora Silencio Posts: 1487 | Registered: Sunday, February 10 2002 08:00 |
