As someone who uses his bike regularly for transportation, I'm all for riding bikes on the street. The only problem is that the laws requiring bicycles to obey the rules of the road and be treated by motorists as if they themselves were motorists are rarely ever enforced.

My elementary school had a macadam playground everywhere but under the jungle gym. We even had a slide that ended with a 1' drop to the ground. I recently went past that same school and found that it had, like everywhere else changed to that very same plastic monstrosity. :(

A Massachusetts elementary school has prohibited children from playing tag at recess. Where does it end? In another few years, will they also ban swings and jungle gyms? Kids get hurt sometimes. It's a fact of life.

It's a weird quirk of UBB. The only name that UBB will not let others take is your login name. This i why I had to put a period on the end of my name when I switched to this account. The same thing happened to Lazarus when he changed his PDN for some meme or other. During that time, a new user registered as Lazarus. We can chalk this one up as another reason why UBB blows. :P

I've had this conversation with multiple people over the past several years, which makes me curious. How many of us who grew up in the 90s (at least 80% of the boards) owe most if not all our knowledge of literary classics to a spotted mutt on PBS?

The graphics were actually quite good for their time. The FMV sequences were especially nice. All in all though, I'd rather play 9, which had the same graphics quality and far superior mechanics, plot, and characters.

Unfortunately, yes. I regret it now. 8 was terrible, probably the worst of the lot. It was such a disappointment after 7. At least it was followed by the magnificence that is 9. :P
